Fire Alarm Systems
|
More than 93,000 recorded fires are to blame for the loss of around 490 lives each year and millions of pounds worth of damage to property as well as loss of earnings. Due to this the installation and maintenance of a fire alarm system is to help save lives as well as to limit the time you may have to live or work in temporary accommodation which could in turn limit the loss of revenue to your business. In homes, a single or multiple smoke alarms on each level of the house will usually be sufficient, but regular checks should be made to ensure that the battery and alarm is functioning correctly. In
larger Domestic or Commercial / Industrial
premises a more sophisticated fire detection
system may be required. Since 2006, a new
system of Fire Risk Assessment was made compulsory
for all buildings, giving way to the old fire
certificate system. To offer a highly reliable yet effective Fire Alarm System, we install processor enhanced detectors as standard. Each detector has its own on-board microprocessor to ensure the optimum detector sensitivity is maintained without giving rise to false alarms. This gives intelligent detection whether the control system is addressable or not. Addressable systems are available, these systems not only indicate the general area of a fault or fire but also give pinpoint location at the control panel such as "FIRE Boardroom 2nd Floor". This vastly reduces search times in the event of a fault or fire situation. Pre-alarm warnings can also be indicated giving time to investigate before a full alarm is reached. Early warning high sensitivity laser systems are ideal for critical applications where even a trace of undetected smoke is unacceptable or where high air flows can make traditional smoke sensors inadequate. |
